Red is an orphaned little girl with clothing fashioned from her deceased mother’s favorite curtains. She was always teased, spit on and mistreated by everyone in her village. She was treated as if she were a diseased rodent, no one wanted anything to do with her. She had no family, no friends, the orphanage was already over crowded with other unwanted little boys and girls. But one day all that changed. As she was going to her usual begging spot, where she would often at least get a shilling or to from any person with half a soul ( which was soon accompanied by a spit in the face), she heard a shrill scream coming from a back alley. Soon a crowd of people came rushing opposite of the ally, as if someone had let off a gun. Having nothing else to loose, Red figured she navigate through the crowd to see what all the ruckus was about. As she approached the alley, she saw what looked like a man wearing a fur suit, hunched over and making crunching sounds. She moved in closer, though everything in her was yelling at her to leave, her curiosity was a bit louder. As she got closer she saw that the man in the fur suit was not a man at all, but a werewolf as fabled thorughout her village. Upon this conclusion, the were wolf smelled the air, slowly turned to her and slowly started closing in. Red looked behind him as saw the shredded remains of what looked like one of the clerks of the local bank who usually gave her a good spit in the face or too each morning as apart of his routine. The werewolf stared snarling at her as he moved in closer and closer. He finally got within an inch of her face and gave a loud bark. Suddenly all fear had unknowingly washed away from Red. From out of nowhere a rush of boldness blew into her like a mighty wind. Tired of always being trampled and spit on, she chose today of all days to decide she would have no more of it. So…she barked back. The werewolf was shocked, no being in the lands had ever stood up to him. She had his respect, and as a sign….he licked her. The too have been best friends ever since…and no one ever dare mistreat her again…or they would be ripped to shreds. THE END This is the story of Red and the Werewolf.
